Jenni approaches education from a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective. Having been in the field of multicultural education for almost 20 years and having also a degree in economics, she has gained versatile and in-depth experience on teaching and learning in an international context.

She has worked as a class teacher and as a vice principal in an international IB school teaching basic education students in English both in the Primary and Middle Years Programmes. In addition, she has solid understanding and experience on expertise and talent management, and how to utilize those in the field of education. 

She has several years of experience for example of school administration and curriculum development, co- and team teaching, phenomena and inquiry based learning, classroom management, learning-by-doing teaching and learning, and emotional skills and wellbeing education. She has been teaching all subjects taught in K12. 

Jenni is a visionary solution provider, who believes that all children can learn when the context, approach and methods are tailored for their needs. She has experienced the benefits of the constructivist teaching approach that leans on the idea of hermeneutics. Her work experience in several countries and the international Master’s degrees have shown her that no matter where we are, there are certain facts related to learning and motivation that apply to all children.

Jenna is enthusiastic about fostering the joy of learning and introducing active approaches to teaching and learning. In her work, she is driven by improving school cultures and brainstorming on practices to benefit the whole school community. 

Having worked in Finland and in Thailand, Jenna is equipped with solid experience as a Class Teacher as well as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher. Jenna has taught a variety of subjects in K12 education and worked as a Student Counselor in secondary school. Currently she is teaching at Oulu International School, which is an international IB school offering both the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes.

Jenna has gained experience as an Educational Consultant and as an Expert in Learning the field of educational technology. While working as a teacher, Jenna acts as a supervisor and mentor for student teachers completing their Bachelor and Master level teaching practices.

Jenna’s innovative thinking skills are exhibited in the numerous school development projects that she has been a part of internationally, participating in them both locally and remotely. In her previous projects, she has utilized her areas of pedagogical expertise, including active learning, summative and formative assessment, holistic inquiry-based learning, educational technology, multiculturalism in education, as well as curriculum development.
